The Path of Greatest Resistance
1996 Dur. 10:45 Stereo
If listening to music is like exploring an aural landscape, then experiencing most styles of popular music is like wandering through a formal garden …… the patterns and shapes become immediately obvious and the pathway is usually quite predictable.
But this composition is the musical equivalent of venturing straight into a thick, overgrown forest. The music is an intricate tangle of twisted vines, prickly thorns and exotic fungi all growing on and around each other. It’s not random chaos though. Every note in the composition, like every leaf in a wild forest, has sprouted forth as the result of an organic process that flourishes slowly and purposefully.
